Luke O'Beirne-Kelly, R.Ac
Acupuncturist Luke first came to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine over a decade ago while seeking to improve all aspects of his health. The wonderful outcomes inspired him to make a change and share the gift of this medicine with others. Luke aims to improve the quality of life of those he works with. He draws on the experience of his own healing journey to help others navigate through the blockages they may encounter on their path to wellness. Luke's active and adventurous lifestyle has provided him with a strong familiarity of injury recovery and rehabilitation. This is complimented by a keen interest in pain management informed by the bio-psycho-social approach. In addition to his education, Luke's background as a professional ski instructor, a competitive freestyle skier, and a participant in a wide variety of other sports have given him a practical foundation in biomechanics. Prior to completing his acupuncture studies at Pacific Rim College in Victoria BC, Luke completed a 3-year program in Chinese Medical Qigong. He has received additional training in Balance Method acupuncture, myofascial needling, and modern pain science. Luke's practice has been influenced by the Chinese martial arts, somatic therapy, Daoist and Buddhist philosophy, and the works of Carl Jung. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering which he finds balances his more esoteric studies. In his spare time, Luke loves cooking, playing soccer, and spending time with his partner and their dog, Zula. |
